What is D2G System – Dual Fuel Technology?

D2G is a division of “RWPE GAS EQUIPMENT” designed to provide a dual fuel solution for your existing Diesel engines.

D2G has been developed with the help of European equipment supporters as a fully integrated solution and includes all requiredhardware for conversion to PNG operation. D2G conversion system is comprised of various componentsand assemblies that are retrofitted on existing diesel operated engines.

After the D2G conversion system has been installed, the generator can be operated on either 100% diesel fuel or on acombination of diesel fuel and PNG.

In simple terms Dual Fuel is the simultaneous combustion of two fuels; methane based gaseous fuel is utilized in conjunction with diesel fuel to operate the engine. After conversion, the engine is able to operate on either 100% diesel fuel, or alternately, on a mixture of diesel fuel and methane-based fuels.

During Dual Fuel operation, a reduced quantity of diesel fuel acts as the ignition source for the air- gas mixture. Dual Fuel System replaces diesel fuel with equivalent heat energy of the methane based fuels.

Dual Fuel System delivers Natural Gas to the cylinders via Air-Gas Mixer located in the standard engine air- intake system. The Gas is then ignited by a diesel “pilot” that acts as an ignition source for the air-gas mixture.

The State-Of-The-Art controller monitors critical engine and Dual-Fuel System parameters and activates/deactivates gas mode according to programmed limits.

Engines converted to Dual-fuel exhibit diesel-like performance in critical areas as efficiency, stability and Load acceptance.
