Multi-Stage Ion Exchange Process
Cation Exchange
The first stage where positively charged ions like Calcium, Magnesium, and Sodium are removed using strong acid cation resin.
Anion Exchange
The second stage where negatively charged ions like Chlorides, Sulfates, and Nitrates are exchanged for hydroxyl ions.
Degasification & Mixed Bed
Optional stages to remove CO2 and trace minerals, ensuring the final water reaches the lowest possible conductivity levels
How Our Demineralization Plants Work
A precision ion-exchange process designed for total dissolved solids (TDS) eradication.
Pre-Filtration
Before entering the DM plant, raw water passes through sand and carbon filters to remove suspended solids and free chlorine, which can permanently damage the sensitive ion-exchange resins.
Strong Acid Cation (SAC) Exchange
The water enters the Cation vessel filled with negatively charged resin beads. Here, all positively charged mineral ions (like Calcium, Magnesium, and Sodium) are stripped from the water and replaced with Hydrogen (H+) ions.
Degassing Tower (For High Alkalinity)
If the feed water has high alkalinity, the water is passed through a degasser tower. This breaks down carbonic acid and safely vents out Carbon Dioxide (CO2) gas, significantly reducing the load on the subsequent Anion vessel.
Strong Base Anion (SBA) Exchange
The water then enters the Anion vessel filled with positively charged resin. It strips away all negatively charged ions (like Chlorides, Sulfates, and Silica) and replaces them with Hydroxyl (OH-) ions, forming pure H2O.
Mixed Bed (MB) Polishing (Ultimate Purity)
For industries requiring zero-conductivity ultra-pure water, a Mixed Bed unit combines both cation and anion resins in a single vessel to catch any trace ions that escaped the primary two-bed system.
Automated Regeneration Cycle
Once the resins are exhausted (full of minerals), the plant undergoes a safe, automated regeneration process using Hydrochloric Acid (HCl) for the Cation resin and Sodium Hydroxide (NaOH) for the Anion resin, restoring them to full capacity.
